FerroSpire Black
Black concrete pigment – liquid FerroSpire Black
FerroSpire Black is a liquid, water-based black pigment of natural magnetite for through-colouring concrete, including roof tiles and paving stones. The range has four grades: IS-3101 is slightly coarser than the others, IS-3102 is our standard black grade, IS-3301 is extra dark black with a slight blue undertone (indicative), and IS-3302 is deep black with carbon black. Black iron oxide is generally used for grey, anthracite and black concrete products, and it is also part of blended brown shades. As a liquid pigment it is dosed directly into the mix. We are happy to test FerroSpire Black with the PCE product you use. A test cast is recommended before production, and you can request a quote and a sample for all four grades.

FerroSpire Black
Four black grades of natural magnetite
Typically 2–6 % dry pigment by weight of cement, but the dosage depends on the desired colour, so talk to us and order samples.
- IS-3102
FerroSpire Black – standard black
FerroSpire IS-3102 is the standard grade of FerroSpire Black: a liquid, water-based black pigment of natural magnetite (Fe3O4). It is our standard black grade for concrete products, roof tiles and paving stones. Black iron oxide is also used together with red and yellow iron oxide when blending brown shades.
- IS-3101
FerroSpire Black – coarser black
FerroSpire IS-3101 is the coarser grade of FerroSpire Black: a liquid, water-based black pigment of natural magnetite (Fe3O4). The pigment is slightly coarser than in our other black grades. Black iron oxide is generally used for grey, anthracite and black concrete products, and a test cast is recommended to see the shade in your concrete.
- IS-3301
FerroSpire Black – extra dark black
FerroSpire IS-3301 is the extra dark grade of FerroSpire Black: a liquid, water-based black pigment of natural magnetite (Fe3O4). It is dark black with a slight blue undertone (indicative). A blue undertone means the black leans slightly cool rather than brownish, and a test cast shows how it looks in your concrete.
- IS-3302
FerroSpire Black – deep black with carbon black
FerroSpire IS-3302 is FerroSpire Black with carbon black: a liquid, water-based pigment of natural magnetite with carbon black. It gives a deep black shade. Carbon black is a very fine black pigment, and a test cast is recommended before production.
Screen colours and technical values are indicative; final values are stated in the quotation and on the technical data sheet. The customer is responsible for test casting and verifying suitability for their own use.
How the liquid pigment is added
- With a dosing system
- Poured from the pail straight into the concrete mixer
- Straight into the truck mixer – no need to wash the plant mixer
